Chobe National Park is home to some of the greatest
concentrations of game found on the African continent.
There is an estimated 60 000 elephants living in the park,
which is thought to be the largest surviving elephant
population in Africa.
Chobe is the 2nd largest game park in Botswana covering
10566 square kilometres. Herds of buffalo numbering up to
700 and great swaying families of elephant are a common
sight. All major species including giraffe, elephant, zebra,
impala, tsessebe, roan, sable, wildebeest, kudu, buffalo,
waterbuck, eland, lion, hyena, leopard, jackal and wild dogs
are resident in Chobe Game Reserve.

Mafuta can arrange these permits at a cost of P20.00 per 4x4

Two hundred metres from the border you turn left at the
Caltex filling station.
A dirt road at the back of the filling station leads to the
reception of Kwa Noking Lodge / Mafuta Base Camp
